Hi and welcome! I’m Nikki, a former Bio/Chem teacher turned stay-at-home-mom to four sweet babies.

I started crocheting during my freshman year of college (18 years ago. Sheesh!) and I instantly fell in love with the idea of creating something beautiful using only string and a hook. It still amazes me nearly 20 years later!

When I don’t have a hook in my hand, I love spending time at the lake with my family, gardening, and listening to audiobooks (currently obsessed with the Outlander series! Any OL fans here?).

After many years of my engineer hubby politely listening to my crochet excitement with a slightly glazed look on his face, I decided to start The Knotted Nest as a place where I can share my love for fiber arts with like-minded people.

It’s always been close to my heart to raise my family with an appreciation for all things handmade (and homegrown!). Now I want to share that message with the world! My dream for TKN is to inspire others to discover the joy of creating with crochet and add my own voice to the amazing online maker community.
